INTRODUCING A NEW PROJECT
REVEALING ANCESTRAL MYSTERIES
by Liz Fisher
Phase One: Interactive Novella Series
Phase Two: Internet TV Movies/DVDs

Imagination, ingenuity, and a moral code she can live by are her tools.

So much has transpired over the last two centuries in the ancestry of most Americans, whether they lived in North America or elsewhere. Yet often we are woefully ignorant of what has happened in previous generations. The myth of newness has blinded many Americans to the importance of knowing the challenges faced in previous times.

The main character Kit Fraser is a popular columnist writing under the pen name Eva Silvermore, who often makes her points by asking questions, using detached humor and occasionally piercing insight. She has grown up in an America profoundly influenced by her parents’ formative experiences—the Depression of the 1930s and World War II—and her own youth lived in the 1950s and 1960s. In this mini-series Healing Ancestral Mysteries, Kit uncovers, deciphers and integrates some of these important events into her contemporary viewpoint.

A goal of this series is to reorder expectations for a woman from being primarily a “muse and mother” to “person and partner” in all her relations and roles.

While Kit honors the importance of nurturing in women’s lives, she comes, through the course of her investigations, to believe this need to express nurturance is universal and under met.

Empathy and compassion, outgrowths of caring, are actually not gender specific, i.e. female, but rather healthy human responses. Discovering what fosters these important qualities motivates her inquiries. She finds that at the center of her process is recasting the meaning of what it is to be free and to love, cornerstones of any soulful existence.

NOTE: Additional episodes will pursue healing other individual and collective American historical and cultural dilemmas.

Our newly formed venture is BCW Productions.

Our mission is:
  • to create multimedia, multi-platform stories which go to the heart of pressing modern moral dilemmas;

  • to coordinate creative collaborations among artists, visionaries, dramatists, musicians and heart centered people;

  • use wide reaching technological forms of communication, such as film and TV, the internet and print to project their creations as far as possible;

  • encourage person-to-person gatherings to exchange impressions these creations stimulate;

  • facilitate the undertaking of personal discovery by the readers / viewers of their own core essence.

This multimedia form of storytelling is transformative, freeing and empowering. By combining a variety of artistic forms including video, music and visual art with a conventional narrative format on the internet, the reader / viewer has the chance to gain information and emotional content in a variety of ways, thereby increasing the potential for a healing effect.

Those experiencing the trans-media novellas which comprise Healing Ancestral Mysteries:

explore spiritual perspectives that are rooted in several traditions converging into a modern understanding which supports authentic expression and collaborative community;

relate new interpretations of old archetypes to present social and political hot points, replacing "hate talk" with positive modeling;

learn pre-patriarchal and woman-honoring mythologies which provide opportunities to revision gender and inter-generational relationships;

correct the record regarding myths and symbolism of the apple, the tree of knowledge and the serpent;

creatively imagine new possibilities, using a combination of truth and humor to diffuse attacks and hold up positive possibilities.

Characters experience real life transitions as well as a set of magical happenings and inter-actions with fantasy friends.  The moral angles the characters use to shape their choices throughout the unfolding stories offer fresh options and life changing possibilities.
