Wisdom from Lucile Longview
Commentary by Liz Fisher
Lucile was the author of the Women & Religion Resolution, adopted unanimously by the UU General Assembly in 1977. Near the end of her life, Lucile Longview compiled into The Red Notebook her favorite talks and writings about women, which are often auto-biographical and personal. This blog will excerpt and reflect on these poignant pieces still so relevant today.
Liz Fisher, author of Rise Up & Call Her Name and Gender Justice knew Lucile for 25 years starting in 1984. They often discussed the unique position that Women and Religion occupies in the movement for women’s equality.
