Often Suppressed Information

"Signs Out Of Time: the Story of Archaeologist Maria Gimbutus" This stunning documentary, a joint project of Donna Read and Stawhawk, narrated by Olympia Dukakis, is available through Belili Productions at www.belili.org  This site has many other wonderful features and resources listed.

www.WomenandSpirituality.net is an interesting site with lots of current columns by luminaries in Women’s Spirituality as well as interesting films for sale including:
Women and Spirituality: The Goddess Trilogy by Donna Reed
(This one many of us first saw years ago and still find it wonderful on reviewing. For younger women this is a great way to be introduced into this subject. Now in DVD.)

Max Dashu, cultural historian and artist has been presenting slides shows on Women’s History from around the world since the early 1970’s. This website www.suppressedhistories.net which she has assembled has wonderful information and images. Max also offers a powerful DVD which is excerpted on the site and which can be purchased as well.

Standing on My Sister’s Shoulders:
A film about the Mississippi Freedom Movement
by Joan Sadoff, Dr. Robert Sadoff & Laura J. Lipson
http://www.wmm.com/filmcatalog/pages/c617.shtml
A missing chapter in our nation’s record of the Civil Rights movement, this powerful documentary reveals the movement in Mississippi in the 1950’s and 60’s from the point of view of the courageous women who lived it and emerged as its grassroots leaders. Their living testimony offers a window into a unique moment when the founders’ promise of freedom and justice passed from rhetoric to reality for all Americans.

(Call the contact on their website for a price quote. They will negotiate for churches.)

We’Moon Calendar www.wemoon.ws
This wonderful yearly planner is also a work of art. It contains many inspirational written pieces, beautifully provocative art, astrological predictions and the best ways to track the rhythms of the year. By having this calendar as a companion I get a sense of being a part of a beautiful and caring community.

Enjoy gorgeous images, inspiring music, art explorations, rituals, research, fun!
